Wildlife spotter catcher and Fauna Management
Changes to state legislation relating to the preservation of wildlife, in particular the Koala, have resulted in implications for developers, land clearance operators and arboriculturists. Stipulations are often made in Council Development Approvals with regard to EPA/QPWS accredited Wildlife Spotter/Catchers providing pre-clearance and/or during clearance management of native fauna.
Queensland Fauna Consultancy (QFC) provides a legislative compliant service that fulfils all obligations requested of vegetation removal operators during the clearance process. Our process is not only mindful of the need for on site fauna values to be maintained but considers the time constraints and operating deadlines associated with development. We aim to minimise the impact on wildlife through methods that are specific to each location and allow minimal to no disruption to machinery operators.
QFC has facilitated the fauna management process in a range of locations across Queensland. Our team has successfully undertaken works from small suburban blocks to major road and infrastructure projects and large-scale clearance operations associated with the establishment of new housing, industrial developments and mining locations. These works have seen us formulate a range of fauna management strategies involving linear and broad scale clearance requirements.
Our interaction with a large number of clientele has seen us formulate safety plans and risk management strategies specific to the industry. We provide Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) specific to onsite requirements and are pleased to adopt further safety initiatives and attend site-specific inductions.
Furthermore, QFC is fully licensed and accredited by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and as an EPA certified Spotter/Catcher we hold current permits for Wildlife/Spotter activities. We provide all necessary insurance cover as well as work place injury cover for all our consultants and sub contractors.
